Need some office equipment?

Need some office equipment? Maybe you'll want to check out the 8863 items from Arthur Andersen being auctioned off, starting tomorrow. Lots of printers, monitors, servers, apparently not much cable management, but no shredders that I've seen yet. Then again, I haven't looked through the 6 meg Excel spreadsheet of all items either. Just the ticket, in case you need 18 floors(600,000 square feet) worth of furniture and equipment. A cold, hard footnote to a pathetic and shameful story of integrity squandered.

It's like deja vu, only different!

I'll take one of these and some of this, please.

what's with the phone booth?

The phone booth is for changing into your costume, of course.

That spreadsheet is only 600K, btw.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Well, duh-the phone booth is really a TARDIS. All of Andersen's execs scurried themselves off to some other dimension after the scandal broke, henceforth why none of them will end up in jail!

Now you know where their mysterious "R&D Budget" was going to...

note: did this just make me the King of Obscure References, or did anyone else catch that?

I want a shredder.

No no, we caught it, tgrundke.
It would have been a bit more obscure if you had asked in which room they had placed the other matching phone booth.

I was expecting something involving a fellow named Rufus.

3,000 Aeron chairs? What's the average price for a used one these days?

Used market price just went down.

I've been to one failed-dotcom auction and heard about a few others. Those auctions were packed with people and there weren't many real bargains. But the scale of this auction certainly tilts the whole market.

If I were Aeron, I'd try to buy all the chairs before the auction starts and destroy them.

The Aeron chair is made by Herman Miller.

The market price for Aeron chairs on eBay seems to be $350-$650, depending on whether it is "fully loaded", "gently used", etc. It will be interesting to see what happens with those prices after Oct 3...

What's with the sizes of these chairs by the way? Do I want a size B or size C? Is there a size A? I want the office chair SUV equivalent to intimidate my coworkers :)

Tri: Yes, Size A is "petite", Size C is "beefy". It's only a couple of inches difference. Otherwise, they all have the same features.
