When pigs fly

When pigs fly - This journal by the artist Andy Feehan details his work with tattooed hairless animals. Regardless of your immediate reaction to the art, Feehan's compassion and love for the animals is sure to win you over. Normally, I disprove of weblog cross-posts, but I couldn't resist sharing after finding this via memepool.

Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs were popular?

I saw this over at memepool as well and wanted to post here just to see the discussion. Cool story.

Wow. This article reads like one of the better episodes of This American Life. Touching and completely bizarre.

I really like the fact that he pointed out the cruelty of animal research on pigs. What happened to the winged-pig was a freakish twist...

I was all ready to post a joking link to Stupid.com's flying pig toy, but now I am drawn into this serious, compelling story on another level...

I find this to be one of those examples where interesting truth can lie at the bottom of a pool of oddity. Very neat.

Great story. It was almost episodic due to the s l o w server the story is on, but a great read.

good call on the "immediate reaction" bit.. i was a little uncomfortable at first, but very intrigued with the idea. after realizing that the animals were put under for the "surgery" i felt much better.

i think this adds another dimension to my "crazy old lady" ideas i have for how i am going to live when i'm old and semi-senile.. i am going to have to have a few tattooed pigs around. by that time i'll be covered too, and we'll be a perfect match!

This looks oddly and coincidentally like the hijinks of Vim Delvoye.

the pig wings project: using living pig tissue to grow wing shaped semi-living objects

a house for pigs and people: the house can be understood primarily as an emotional forum to contemplate on the "pigs" and, thus, oneself
