Lord of the Peeps!

One Peep to rule them all, and in the darkness eat them. It's not Friday, but any day is a good day to see "Lord of The Rings" executed with marshmallow peeps. There's also a "PeepHenge" on the site...mmmmmmm, PeepHenge. (God bless Bifurcated Rivets.)

let me at least nominally add some substance to this thread by asking: any other edible tributes to great works of film or literature out there? i've got a whole trove of Lego tributes, to "2001," M.C. Escher, etc etc etc. but how about some crop art or jellybean art or whatnot?

Peeps are disgusting, but very cute. The FoTP is great. And can I say that I've been to Stonehenge, and PeepHenge is much cooler.

Here are a couple of plays/movies re-enacted by Peeps... My favorite is Romeo & Juliet: "Who's that guy I just made out with?" "Romeo Montague." "Shit."

A list of Peeps links.

I [heart] Peeps. Well, not to eat.

"The moon is high and so is Hobbiton."

Just great. Gah, so much work...

What the hell is a Peep?!

Peeps are sugar-coated marshmellows in the shape of rabbits, chicks, and other Easter related animals. They are brightly pastelled wonders of American confectionery.

They are also great fun in the microwave.

Upon further exploration, I discover that you can also purchase Peeps for the summer, Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine's Day.

This almost makes me wish I could get Peeps in the Uk...

Those are the strangest-shaped peeps I've ever seen. Where was this thing made?

Was anybody else hopping it was by peep-mation instead of static images?

Still, a very solid effort.

It looks like the bunny variety (with the hobbitpeeps having had the bottom halves of their bodies amputated) was used, not the chick variety, which are, you know, the One True Peep.

Great stuff, but does anybody have a mirror?

The original link bypassed the front page, which contains a peep for help -- bandwidth bills will force them to close the peeps for the remainder of the month unless they can get some help. So if you like peep art, send 'em a couple of bucks to keep it alive through events like the MeFi onslaught they're currently experiencing.

good point, blissbat - i threw them some PayPal dough after directing all these MeFites their way.

on the "strange-shaped" Peep tip (tee hee, Peep tip), i believe the Nazgul-Peeps are my favorite, evil purple chick-Peeps with flowing capes. also Gollum looks appropriately shrivelled, though it would've been cool to make him out of one of those hideous orange marshmallow "circus peanut" things. finally, i laughed for ten minutes at Frodo's big green Elijah Wood bead eyes!

Was anybody else hopping...

Oh...oh, dear...that shouldn't amuse me nearly as much as it does.
