A nifty little site featuring the latest in techno-lust. In the world of fine found linkage, I'm much more of a consumer than a producer... but occasionally I come across some tasty little morsel. Let the coveting begin. [via A Beat Experience]

Gizmodo has been around since last July; it's been referred to once or twice around here without being linked to per se (at least not that I could find), but its mindshare in the blogging world is considerable. It's also significant in that it's meant to be a profitable venture. See Matt's post to Blogroots last August.

Another site to which I shall invariably become addicted. Thanks a lot.

I'm not sure if I'm being sarcastic or not . . .

Gizmodo has been on my blog roll for months and as far as I'm concerned is invaluable. While the content is certainly fun, and I covet about 75% of it... I suspect this FPP would have been better served if we looked at the business aspect of this site and it's sister site Gawker. Blogs with backers. An interesting concept. These folks are doing it right. These folks aren't.

On preview... yea what mcwetboy said.

I'm fairly certain that most of the stuff I come across will be old-hat for at least some of the folks around here, as y'all seem to really get around... that said, a little FPP for those that haven't seen it before is just what the doctor ordered.

As for it being a for-profit venture, cool! I didn't notice... which may be the point.

I'm surprised this hasn't been a front page post yet.

I like the idea (and am mulling a for-profit blog myself) but I find I don't get into Gizmodo. Maybe I'm just not a big enough techno-freak. Of course, as I write this, I've spotted several things I now covet, so maybe I'm just deluding myself...

Gizmodo is great, and's truly a weblog - rich in links to other sites.

I can't wait to get my USB toothbrush!

PlayStation 3 is coming out this year?!? And I'm still working on FFX! <sigh>

The PS3 thing was a false rumor based on a bad translation of a press release. Get back in there and finish up.

As a geek, I don't just want to see a small picture of the product, a short description, and possibly a link to Amazon.com. I want to see the specs, benchmarks, usability reviews, etc. Without these things, Gizmodo seems awfully empty of information.

Most of the Gizmodo posts also include links to relevant reviews (when available), or at least product webpages, press releases, etc.

There's plenty of information.
