Pretty, but needs work.
The west coast of Alaska is a mirror image of the east coast of Russia.
Venus lacks an atmosphere.
Distant stars are brighter when seen through Saturn's rings.
I had some trouble navigating.

I suspect this solar system app was made by artists and programmers and not astronomers, as a demonstration of the anark multimedia programming tool.

Majick, are you sure about that? Mac OS X 10.3.1, Safari 1.1 here, and Anark installed quite easily.

I remember that day, all those years ago, when my father told me that his one great accomplishment was writing a subroutine in the VRML standard library.
He also told me that the fall of the Berlin Wall was likely going to be the most significant historical event I would be alive for, so I suppose he could have been wrong on that one, too.
