Ethnic humor?

Ethnic humor? So am I suppose to be entertained by this or should I be shocked that ethnic humor is becoming popularized by the net sophisticate? Someone please help this poor luddite realize how trendy it is to mock an ethnic culture. Peace out.

That shit just made me feel icky...
Of course the tour bus giving me a 'Wassuppp?' on the street a couple of days ago bled all the fun out of that too. *sigh*

One who embraces the net in an effort to turn a buck can hardly be described as a luddite. It rather goes against the very definition of 'luddite' that you linked to.

That said, I don't think there's anything particularly offensive about the 'Ethnic Humor" on the iGhetto page. Of course, me an' my peeps ain't from the Ghetto.

Urban culture was commodified a long time ago. Remember Yo! MTV Raps!? This isn't anything new.

Um...the "luddite" link was sarcasm.

"shorty" == female? What ghetto did THEY grow up in? My black friends always use it to mean "kids" ... That sort of thing makes it all suspect ...

actually dhartung, shorty can mean both children or girl friend. but i believe the usage you heard came first.

Once again my point was completely missed due to this non-contextual form of communication.

If everyone is just seeing some white guy with a stick up his ass and no sense of humor ranting on about what appears to be a *really funny* website that has ethnic humor...

...then I really don't see the point in debating this topic further. So I'm taking my self-aware ass and clicking elsewhere.

You're right that was simple.

Couldn't resist. Personally, I've seen at least a hundred ethnic humor sites of questionable taste. I think that the freedom to be tasteless is one of the saving graces of the Web.
