Perhaps it's because you can never see both of her hands at one time.

How can something so wrong feel so right?

I was thinking that maybe the blender was programmed to match the 'pitch' of its blending with the woman's? I assumed since the video is on an MIT site it was some kind of geek experiment.

If this turns you on, maybe you should look to David Lynch for your pornographic needs.

The participant empathizes with Blendie 2000 and in this new approach to a domestic appliance fosters a more conscious and personally meaningful and responsible relationship with machines. And it is fun.

well she put me through some changes, lord
sort of like a Waring blender

Warren Zevon prophesied all.

I think such technology could change the world for the better. Who'd drive Humvees or shoot machine-guns if the user had to go "vrrrrrrrm vrrrrm" and "budda budda budda" to make them work?

this was pretty hot. and those ankles--hubba hubba.

That's one of the strangest things I've seen on the internets in a while, and that's saying something.

Is it wrong that I find this strangely erotic?

No, no it's not.

See some of her other work. Good stuff.

I can't criticize -- you see, I've always had this thing about log chippers and garbage disposals.

And that woman is kinda hot.

Yeah, she's hot... in that Cindy Sherman, Diamonda Galas kinda way.

She's the Blender Whisperer.

What's not to like about her, or her "gift?"

This blender, it vibrates?

[C'mon, y'all knew that was coming.]

"Blendie has a mind of its own. It doesn't simply listen and follow but sometimes speaks of its own accord."

Great. Appliances with attitude. Reminds me of Ubik.

It is far easier to make a human more like a machine, than to make a machine more human.

Blendie = Furby + Blender?

monju_b., I enjoyed the link -- Machine Therapy reminded me of this old room fan I used to own that had a bad bearing in it -- its "wobble" oscillated perfectly in time to the Smiths' "How Soon is Now" and added a nice ambience.

Are you a blender?

zztzed, that was beautiful.

Great link. The blue is back with a blender!

The blender is not erotic to me, but the technology has possibilities. I am thinking of miniaturization and putting this in some "items" that could put a new spin into the sex life.

But that's just me...

Are there any women who find this at all erotic? Because I'm just not seeing it.
posted by Dreama at 5:24 PM on November 7, 2004

well i just found it funny but i see the potential it has for being erotic... it's a relatively cute girl making guttural sounds and opening her mouth wide - that's gonna work for a lot of people, don't you think...?
