Earls Colne, Essex: Records of an English Village 1375-1854 ; and Domesday Witham, an Essex town. Pieces of Essex history.
So very interesting! I just started looking and found Henry Morley, who shows up for adultery, then slander, and then for steps taken against his for excommunication. He gets absolved, looks like he defaults a number of times, is part of a party of men arrayed and weaponed with swords bills staves corselets headpieces and other weapons that comes to drive the mill operator out over a dispute concerning who has the rights to the mill, and dies at 52.
Thanks, plep. I could spend days and days here.
