Shove It

Shove It is a maniacal logic game. [Flash]
Just an iffy remake of sokoban, which in turn may be a remake of something even older.
Decent enough game but hardly original.

devbrain: I'm not sure how an 80's video game geek such as myself missed Sokoban (Japanese for "Warehouse Keeper"), but I did. Thanks for the tip. The game seems to have generated a lot of clones through the years, as well as several academic papers.

I've played numerous games like this before, and I'm always infuriated by them. Infuriated!

Logic games with time limits don't do it for me. Also, games where things get stuck in a corner and you can't pull them out.

This game would be a lot more fun if one of the following occurred:
- Removal of the time limit
- An "undo" command
- A "pull" ability in addition to "push"
I mean, not everyone is quick-witted under pressure.

Agreed on the first two. Other Sokoban clones seem to have either one or both of those features. Note that whenever you start to run out of time, you can click on the button at the bottom of the game (with the code for the current level) and if you return to the same level, your time is back up-- I actually noticed that button before the "Level Reset" one. Seems like a bug/feature.
The "pull" ability would change the whole dynamic though-- that's been a part of Sokoban from the beginning it seems.

A "pull" ability in Sokoban?!!! Thats the whole point! you can only push!
Ahh, I love Sokoban and all its variations. Thanks.
