The last shot is fake, and this is like a month old. What is it with old "humor" being rehashed on mefi lately? Are invites open again?

No, I just miss the days when I never had to skip a post because I had already seen it a million times on other sites. If I wanted links to funny pictures and poor photoshops, I'd visit Fark.
I meant registration, not invites; I'm stuck in private bittorrent tracker mode. Nice to see there's a fee at least.

what was the bigger waste of time... the 5 seconds it took for you to realize this was a repeat post? or the 5 minutes it took to call it out in the comments? furthermore... the 5 minutes i just wasted right here...

The first time I saw this - however far back it was - I was totally expecting the second crane to fall in as well, even though it didn't.
Too bad whoever MS-Painted the last two used a totally crap JPEG encoder or compression level, and sucks at image manipulation.
Is there a non-snarky way - in the absence of voting - that we can call out a post not worthy of MeFi? I don't want to pile on, I don't want to say "terrymiles sucks!", but I would like to point out that this post just isn't up to par.
Tangentially, something that should probably be a pony request in the grey: Can we please cultivate some kind of mentor system or post approval and crosschecking system, and permalink it in the sidebar? This is getting pretty bad. (I stand corrected, Ryvar.)
