justcurio.us AskMeFi for the curious masses. Not nearly as helpful, but can be amusing.

Too much noise in both the questions and the answers.

I was waiting for a chance to post this excellent Achewood cartoon that may have been inspired by AskMe. This is exactly that chance.

Ah, the beauty of a moderator shines through. Reminds me of this gem I found and posted a while back. These sites are good for laughs.

My first question was "Favorite color of underwear."

Neither a question, nor very informative. Bleck. I'll stick to AskMeFi.

Don't be too quick to judge. The Wikipedia Reference Desk is perhaps not quite up to the level of AskMe, but is a heck of a lot closer to AskMe than it is to justcurio.us.

No Canadians! That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. And yeah, nice try trying to regulate your responses. Scary!

THE INTERNET: NO CANADIANS PLEASE.

They pay attention to the rules even less than we do. What does "Newark again :(?" mean?

Just saw this linked at POKEY THE PENGUIN -- looks vaugely interesting in this sort of vein; I guess it's a little app that sits on your desktop and you can open it and ask a question to other users -- sort of like Ask, only with, um, added software, I guess. Although, apparently, with Asko, you can ask POKEY a question, where I don't think he's got a MeFi account. I suppose there's always a tradeoff. I haven't checked it out yet, though, but it does seem like an interesting enough idea.

(Anyway, I was bummed that I-Got-Problems.com didn't exist. Because I can totally relate to the guy who needed to know if his dirty-look-giving neighbor had a gun.)

Rev., if you really want to know whether the guy has a gun... try what I did. Only $10K up front.

Why?

Why is it that whenever I click on a link to what purports to be "an excellent Achewood cartoon", I'm greated by something that is about as far away from excellence as a cartoon can get. Without fail. Yet I keep clicking. I should turn that into a justcurious question.
