Poor Walter

Walter Miller's homepage Picked up recently via kottke.org, this is a years-old webpage (not updated recently) detailing the miserable details of poor Walter's white trash existence. It deserves to be read by a whole new generation. The art of misspelling is taken to new heights.

This totally slayed me back in the day... but IIRC he broke out of his voice for some reason and that kinda spoiled it.

"The Artist known as.." kinda gives it away at the end.

This somewhat reminds me of Brad - The Game. But not as sick and twisted.

At first, I assumed it was for real, and I thought it was incredibly sad. Now I'm assuming it's not (those of you who are familiar with it seem to think this is the case, so that's how I'm voting) and i still think it's very sad.

Are you guys quite serious? You find this funny?

I've thought about posting Walter's page here many times, but thought it would be deleted for the drivel it is (was).
Its better to let some jokes just fade away on their own.

MAN. I haven't thought about Walter_Miller in forever. I'm kind of surprised that there's apparently a 2001 update. I remember a long time ago, I actually spent a few days reading the whole Walter Miller thing, and then he went a long time without updating (as is, apparently, his wont) and I sorta forgot about it.

In some weird way, I'm glad that this still exists.

By the look of it, drivel has a pretty regular place on MeFi. It's not a genre that seems to go entirely unrepresented. I'd rather read Walter for 10 minutes than spend the time in (say) trying to prevent my cursor from being devoured by an alien.

The writing isn't bad enough for it to be real. Sure, there are plenty of misspellings, but the narrative is clear and the visual details are plentiful. Poor spelling is easy to fayk.

The man's gotta be paying for domain name registrations and hosting. I think that fact is illuminating, but I'm not entirely sure why.
