NerdTV out

The first episode of NerdTV is out but the site is so inundated with users that the official torrent is the only way to get a copy at the moment. It's an online-only series featuring hour long episodes filled with interviews done by Robert Cringely.
Sounded interesting right up to the part where you mentioned Cringely.

He isn't a very good columnist either.

Cringley's phone goes off during the interview with Andy Hertzfeld. Very professional.
Cringley: put your phone on silent mode and edit that shit out of the final cut!

Impressive list of guests lined up. After November who is left?

Foot: It is open source TV! You are allowed to edit out that part yourself!
Heh.

It will be interesting to see if this works better than IT conversations, which for those who haven't tried it is mp3s that you can download that have conversations with IT people. The ones with Steve Wozniak and Will Wright are really cool and they regularly churn out good interviews and talks from good people and give them time enough to really get into a subject.
NerdTV has the advantage and disadvantage of being TV. You can't watch it and ride a bike (well, perhaps you could once) but people doing talks could show stuff on the board.
Is there a word for this kind of TV show BTW? Blogovision or some other such neologism?

Fixed BitTorrent link.
The TV aspect seems kind of redundant as it's just video of somebody's head for an hour; they seem to recognize that by offering ogg, aac, and mp3 downloads of the interviews.

Yeah.... that's kinda what I was thinking, too, zsazsa.
After watching one of these things, I still have no idea what Cringely looks like. Not that it matters that much... but it does seem a little odd, given that he's like the host of the show or something.
It's nice to see pbs trying something new, though. Bittorrent! I mean... that's something different. Maybe a successful experiment will help other parts of pbs look towards free distribution methods as well.
