Photos Beyond the Wall "We take you out of the visiting room and place you "inside" the romantic or exotic location of your choice!" Photographs taken in prisons can be photoshopped to magical lands far far away.

I was going to point out the "boo" recommendation before I noticed it as the head for this topic. Nice.

Depressing. The idea that someone would do this almost gives me this glimpse of a life like that- going to prison to visit your love, or being in prison and looking forward to one day every now and then when your love can come to you. And you both decide, let's take a picture, and let's put it on a fancy background, so at least in that one, oddly lit photo, we're living happy somewhere else.

I feel so sad. The limited aspirations implicit in the fantasy backgrounds is particularly depressing.

What does 'your Boo' refer to?

No more explaining where the photos were taken!

Except when someone asks you when you were at the North Woods Lodge, what you're doing behind the bar at the "Manhattan Manor", or where you got the new Jag.

Boo --> Beau --> Boyfriend

About half of the "before" photos seem to have been taken in the exact same spot, in front of the same mural on the same cinderblock wall. It actually looks a lot like the party room at the YMCA or a church basement or something, and not much like what I imagined a prison would look like. Is this someplace particularly well-known? Is it someplace that many viewers of a family photo are actually likely to recognize?

Actually, "Boo" is just an affectionate term, it can refer to a male or female, and it doesn't have to be a sexual relationship either, it can pretty often refer to one's kids. Really, it's kind of a cute word all things being equal.

Now then, having engaged in a few "behind the wall" photos in my lifetime (no, I wasn't the one inside) I can sort of understand the concept behind these. It's a sad feeling to look at you and a loved one in a place as cold as prison is. But that being said, actually getting this done seems like the worst sort of fantasy.

I would think looking at a photo like this would be FAR sadder than any I have.

I like the photo where the guy and girl are sitting outside, on the stairs. Helluva prison!

That's almost as depressing as babyphotoretouch.com.

Oh dear.

I agree, the fantasy is far more depressing than the reality.

If I were in prison, the fantasy I would have wouldn't be owning a Jag, going to faux-tony resorts, or the like -- it would be lying in my own bed at home.

dhartung, I bet for enough money, they'll go to your house and photograph all the mundane things that free people take for granted. Is anyone else reading racism into the "boo" comment on their site? I mean, boo is traditionally African American vernacular, right? So that's clearly who they're targeting?

Well. I just screamed aloud. In terror.

BOO!

(going into that babyphotoretouch.com almost made me barf; the letters from mom's alone are a window into something I probably could have been fine without knowing about. Hard to not check, though, eh?)
