À la carte explores French cookery in just about every angle one can imagine. Featuring an extensive list of recipes, suggested menus, and in-depth articles ranging from how to plan a meal, to what tools to use, including everything one needs to know about knives. Like Strawberries, & crêpes? Want to know more about ice creams & sorbets? Obsessive is an understatement.
The knife section was more extensive but he has taken most of the material offline. I believe they were linked here before.

This is probably the most useful and esthetically pleasing cooking site I've ever seen. The creator did everything right, from the beautifully clean front page, to the indices searchable in both French and English, to the care and love which shines from every page I've read so far. I'm going to be exploring this site for ages. Thanks so much, riffola!

Wow! Fantastic site. I've been exploring French cooking a bit at home thanks to Julia Child. This is a great additional source of information.
