Muppet Wiki. It's like Wikipedia, except, y'know, about the Muppets.
Wow, this was a real trip down memory lane. Thanks!

LostPedia. It's like Wikipedia, except, y'know, about Lost.
Wasn't WikiPedia supposed to be about everything? Isn't it supposed to be able to cover all these topics? Why is there this branching out of wikiness? Why didn't E2 ever catch on? Or H2G2?

Gold. Pure gold.
But not Long John Silver gold.
I think I just confused myself.

Wikipedia is about everything encyclopedic. This kind of thing gets deleted from WP as "Fancruft" (see also Minor character deletion policy). Does a single-skit joke character like Automatic Wastebasket belong in a general-knowledge encyclopedia? I'd argue no. But I'm glad these niche wikis exist.

This is great, thanks.

Self important editors who think they are god makes getting something into Wikipedia difficult if you are not liked by the groupthink online at the time. They get spiteful, too, if say you re-post something they deleted a few hours earlier -- they'll haunt it for a few weeks to make sure it stays dead.
But anyhoo... woo hoo for more public forums!

Cavalier, you think WP should be a free-for-all? Anything anyone wants to put up there should be fine? I should add "The guy in the cube next to Plutor" to the article for Jim? And community decisions should be unenforced entirely or ignorable at will?
It'd end up like the Mefi wiki April Fools joke, i.e., a completely unhelpful mess.

The "non-notable" argument is the number one most popular reason given in Wikipedia "Article for Deletion" nominations. Yet, notability is not a policy on Wikipedia because it is too difficult to define. The question of notability is not restricted to Wikipedia, it is probably also the number one complaint on MeFi (see the tone of the post above by Plutor). Notability is a major question in an environment of unlimited data and it will become increasingly debated in the future in more serious and consequential forums than Wikipedia or MeFi.

Holy Christ, I had no idea there was ever a Hipster Muppet.
Not only hipsters. Nerds, anarchists, androids, uberpatriots, goths, and, of course, filthy hippies. Never let it be said that the Muppets weren't open to subcultures.

This post reminded me to check on something. Henson's short film Time Piece is on Youtube. No sign of The Cube, though.
