It's only rock 'n roll, but Al likes it

Before Al Franken started calling Rush Limbaugh a big fat idiot, he did a big fat Mick Jagger impression. Enjoy.

If Franken ever runs for Senator, he should forego normal political ads and spend his advertising money running this clip.

The crazy thing is that Mick Jagger still does that, and he's like, a hundred and seventy.

Very nice. I didn't know he had it in him.

(I'm sure Ian Sevonius went to that school.)

I find it creepy and well, creepy. So, that is to say, enjoyable, and somehow, creepy.

Oh, good god, stop exaggerating. He's like maybe eighty.

Geez.

From the same era: anyone ever seen Joe Piscopo doing "Under My Thumb" but in the stylings of Sinatra? It was from the early 80s (obviously). He nailed it.

"doobe doo wah baby them old changes have come...

... thumb!"

Franken's a long-time Deadhead. He was the MC at the last show played at Winterland in '78. He did a great skit involving running into Henry Kissinger.

Under My Thumb

Am I offically too old because I didn't understand the lyrics?

But seriously. There didn't seem to be much to this, beyond stylistic imitation. Americans love their slapstick, I realise, but I can't see it myself.

My first time actually looking something up on uTube

Bowie + Reznor - it ain't worth an FPP but it's worth a look.

I had totally forgotten the punchline to the song, but it's handled nicely here.

Nice try, e40, but that's not for two more years. By the time that comes around, both sides will be pulling out stuff, both flattering and unflattering to Al.
