This is just about the most unimportant thing I've ever heard about bush.

Very interesting. Nonetheless, it sounds that at this point none of these accusations could be substantiated. It seems like the article is almost entirerly hearsay. Hearsay I'm inclined to believe given the President's behavior, mind you, but hearsay nontheless.

Bush has a documented record of incompetence and malfeasance while serving as president. Why should anyone care even a little that he might have been slightly more of a jackass in college 40 years ago than previously suspected?

Because it deflects from the current mismanagement, brain_drain. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, etc.

As much as I like the comment in the end about how he wouldn't have gotten in if women were admitted, it's wrong -- he was still from a rich and influential family. He totally would've gotten in.

What's with the cheap shot at Joe Lieberman in the end of the post?

I blame Barbara Bush. She's evil and both her sons have been rotten presidents.

Is this some sort of meta-snark about how Bush the Senior was like a child to his wife? /confused.

Would it really surprise anyone to find out that Bush Jr. had his grades faked to stay out of Vietnam? The guy is a clueless, entitled jerk today, why would we believe that would have been any different when he was in college?

Have you heard about the magic of teflon head?

It's annoying that the author of this speculative article gives out the email addresses of two college officials who s/he feels might have the answers on this, but doesn't seem to have bothered trying to contact these people herself. It's also not a very well-written article.

Bush's grades may well have been faked in one way or another, but this article provides no new reasons to suspect that.

Questions emailed to the pertinent officials have not been answered

Whoops, sorry. But still not convinced.

Is Bush any worse than the scores of young 'mericans in schools all over the US doing relatively little and pulling A & B averages?
posted by pwedza at 11:15 PM on November 4, 2006

Yes, the Iraq War is worse than a 3.5 grade point average. You kids take school way too seriously.
