Powerful stuff. It is hard to imagine what one would do faced with a similar predicament. The psychological solitude is what scares me the most.

that was amazing. I would like to think I'd have the presence of mind to rationalize, "hey, at least it's not a Nazi concentration camp." but constant crying and rocking in a fetal postion would be much more likely.
his resilience is remarkable - it really does sound like he's going to be okay.
