One dog's story of her journey from bait dog (a non-fighting dog used as a "training dummy" for fighting dogs) to loved pet. She got by with a a little help from her friends.
Somebody needs to bite Michael Vick's ears off.

Yay for Noel! Stories like this break my heart (and the happy endings make me happy). Every time I hear/read something like this, I look over at my own rescue pup (who actually sort of reminds me of Noel), snoozing peacefully on the couch, and am so thankful that she'll never be in a situation like that - and completely blown away that anyone could ever do something like that to an innocent animal.

Great story. For some reason I can't link to it but the New York Times has an article today on Michael Vick's dogs and how they are doing in rehab at a no-kill facility in Utah (short answer - pretty damn well). And if I may self promote, this is what I get to spend today doing!

Whoever was running Vick's operation had empathy way down below insect levels, deep down into the realm of demonic delight in the prolonged agony of other living beings. What in the hell could have gone so wrong with those men?
