Procrastination is trying to write your thesis, realizing you need a coffee, going to get the coffee, but it has to be from another building because the cafe in this building is not good, then its colour coordinating events in iCal while you try to remember what paper that reference is in, knowing full well you could just get up and walk over to the filing cabinet and get the damned paper because you remember what the paper looks like and what file folder it's in but not the name and that's why you can't just type it in the search bar of your referencing program and then trying to figure out a numbering scheme for the different sections in said thesis and then forgetting that's what you were doing, winding up on MeFi and typing a ridiculously long comment with poor punctuation all the while feeling guilty for not writing your Lit Review. I am the procrastinatrix.

Procrastination is that warm feeling of accomplishment you get from having cleared out your entire bloglines backlog while at work.

This was great.
His website mostly has illustration work, but there are two more animations you can watch: one he made for an Irish band (The Redneck Manifesto), and the story of Shelly, the music-loving lobster.

I'd come up with some kind of explanation of what procrastination is, but fuck, I'm way to lazy for that shit.

On one hand he sounds annoyed at procrastination. On the other hand I just procrastinated a few minutes watching his video; time that should* have been spent reading the rest of metafilter.

Ooh, that was lovely. I loved the animation and I loved the way it ended and I loved how he made a cup of tea three times.
...*looks for another video to watch, another MeFi thread to read*

Try doing things that give you the illusion of getting closer to your actual task.

Hey, listen. I am not a thief of time; I am the time you spend to help you feel the pressure to motivate yourself. I am not chemical salvation; I am the chemicals that make you salivate. I am not Metafilter; Metafilter is me. And I am not trying to write anyone's thesis. I wrote my own and that got turned in months late.
