Yay for salmonberries! I thought that was a made-up name.

Why don't we throw in some fountain goats as well? Or some Mountain Moats?

Hey, I'm a berrymonster too. Have a heart and don't make fun of us!

The problem with theme posting is that the more you do, the worse they are.

Apparently his mom never read him The Legend of the Indian Paintbrush. It is a flower by the way, not a leaf and it is super-neato.

"Dammit! We were so close!" Heh.

How far should a sane person hike to a trailhead?

(I obviously don't know....)

but I nearly died the day I stepped in a hidden crevasse on Baker.

I must have missed the meme.

Love the Cascades, and this site is charming. Thanks.

Salmonberries are fantastic. I like to think of them as the grapefruit to the raspberry's orange.

There is a Goat Mountain near Vancouver that is adjacent to the more famous Grouse Mountain. They were both named the same way, after the animal that the first party to climb each mountain shot on their respective summits.

I wonder if this nomenclature method applies to this particular Goat Mountain as well.

The problem with a smackfu comment is, the more you read them, the dumber they are.

Cool! This thread has the exact same number of comments as the other mountain n' goat one!

Oops not anymore.

Goat mountain is indeed splendid in the summertime.
I don't understand this post, but I like it anyway.
Also, salmonberries are overrated, at least compared to the infinitely superior thimbleberry.

And I see by cortex's second link that I'll never be able to get the .com for my next band "the tennessee meat goats".
Stuff like that you gotta snap up early.

Man, I love salmonberries. Seriously, if you haven't had them, get thee to Alaska.

So delicious in every form. Anyone want to send me some?

Is there a day when salmonberries or blueberries rule? Or gooseberries or thimbleberries? Does anyone serve them jelled or relished with turkey? I think not.

Says the sell-out. Seriously, "craisins"?!?! How drunk were you when you agreed to that one?
