You're not like the others. You like the same things I do: Wax paper. Boiled football leather. Dog breath.

man, I tried to find a clip of mr bungle playing the R&S theme song, but I couldn't. I did, however, find them playing the themes from Super Mario Bros, so that's something.

Words fail to express the delight that fills my heart right now.

That said, anyone care to comment on what legalities might this run afoul of?

YES! Thank you thank you thank you, Blazecock!

I'd been wondering for a long time about what some of the tracks on R&S were. Finding out about Raymond Scott solved a few of the mysteries, but not all, not by a long shot. This will fill in those gaps. Oh my god, you don't know what this will mean for me.

Huh. I just realized that I am able to recite the Yaksmen Anthem in its entirety, despite the fact that I have not heard it--or indeed thought about it--in approximately fifteen years.

Wow. This is great. Finally I'll get to hear the accordion theme from Fire Dogs, and the kitschy 50s suburbia music.

Yeah, that Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen Anthem stays with a person.

No sir, I don't like it.

Make sure you grab that copy of You Eediot! if you haven't heard it. There's an instrumental track called "Space Madness" that really is an amazing piece of spaced-out guitar work.

GREAT post! Wow.. inspired me to finally download the music of Raymond Scott. Thanks a lot!

This is all excellent, although if I have one minor complaint it is that I am bitterly disappointed that You Eediot! doesn't contain the song 'Lord Loves A Hangin'.
posted by Effigy2000 at 4:59 PM on July 24, 2008

A friend made me a cassette copy of "You Eediot" at band camp in 6th grade, and 15 years later, I still remember all the words to "Muddy Mudskipper," "Ren's Pecs" "Kilted Yaksmen" and "Dizzy Monkees"

This is great, thanks!

I'm having a pool party Saturday and I was searching for some off-the-mark music to play. I'm seriously tempted to cull through this and throw some of it on. Thanks Blazecock Pileon!

Ren & Stimpy is still my all-time favorite cartoon after all these years.

Hey, thanks for this (insert funny catch phrase from show here).

Did anyone else think that "Dog Pound Hop" (the opening theme) was an instrumental version of "Killing Floor" by Howling Wolf? No? Who cares? I think way too much about music and should get a life? Yes. Yes, you are right. Now, really, it's the same song, isn't it?

Amazing.

One thing that surprises me is that the vast majority of this is British. We appear to be the number one supplier of cheesy library music to the world.

It makes me very proud.

I found the song I was looking for but could never identify, that song that had been in my brain as the song I would associate with post WWII suburbia. It's "Happy-Go-Lively" by Laurie Johnson! That's been tickling my brain for decades. If I could favorite this post a hundred times, I would. Thanks!!
