Wonderful post. Thanks. I especially liked Huacachina Oasis. Wikipedia has some Oases, even more by country.

My time at the Siwa Oasis is and will always be one of the most amazing experiences of my life. And if you go, try to stay here for at least two or three days. It's an amazing ecolodge... entirely candle-lit and made of mud. The other guests can be a bit snooty but it's totally worth it. And go on a jeep safari through the Sand Sea. You'll remember it until the day you die. Okay, well, I will anyhow. I mean, I'll remember MY trip. I won't remember yours...

These are... fantastic. Siwa, in particular, inspires me with a hankering to visit it.
Thanks.

You *should.* Okay, this is a self link but here I loved that place... so here are some of the photos I took. And here are more, including the ecolodge.

What are these sorta fox-like things called?
I believe that's a Fennec Fox. Cute little guys!

Outstanding post.
You can almost smell the history in the older oases.
