Roll up roll up....your free regime de la terreur

Happy early Halloween - ‘An essential resource for anyone interested in learning more about the growing danger we all face’ – Commentary magazine highlight visually the short sightedness and ignorance at the heart of neo-conservatism. What better way to welcome our readers than to give them a world map to put up and scare the kids about the big bad world out there. Handily broken down into ‘Islamist, Maoist, Narco and Eco Terrorism.' Marvel at the ability to measure the exact number of 'Incidents of Terrorism worldwide' -11,153 in 2005 and 14,338 in 2006. Seriously, as someone who studied Interpol for 3 years and now works as a risk analyst in the square mile this infuriates me beyond belief.

This post was deleted for the following reason: The image is unreadable. The magazine is not a good mefi post by itself either. -- vacapinta

Unfortunately, you can't read any of the content in the link, because the text is far too small and it's an image...

Be infuriated about illegibly tiny images on your own blog.

I think the most damning part of that image is Luxembourg. Just look at it there, smugly being.. uh.. beige? Red? Green? *squint* Or, shit, is that Belgium?

Also, who names their magazine Commentary. It's like naming your newspaper News.

I'd love to see the map in all its detail, but I'm not signing up for Commentary just to gawk at it.

Agreed that the small image is not that helpful but unfortunately as MSTPT points out it would require signing up to commentary. Here is a link to the AON 2007 political risk world map and this is better though still beset with problems as any right minded person can no doubt appreciate.

This will be deleted. Believe that.

Lots of newspapers are called the News. The Newport News News for instance.

The threat of little tiny terrorists is very real. We must crush the Big-Endians before they obtain cutting-toast-itno-strips technology, not after.

A quick read of some of the comments led me to believe that this post might not be built on quality content. A quick look at the main link confirmed that belief. THE SYSTEM IS WORKING.

I clicked on the first link and found an illegible tiny image. I clicked on the second, in hopes that it would enlighten me, and received a massive SUBSCRIBE NOW flash pop-up concealing all content.

I give this post a D+.

An internet map of terrorism would have this post as a tiny dot of red in a sea of blue.

Here, I found a higher-res image.
