The First Annual MetaFilter Interactive Fiction Contest

This post was deleted for the following reason: I am thrilled about the IF contest (and ashamed that I never got a contribution in), but this doesn't make a whole lot of sense as something for the general public, and it's been covered in Metatalk a couple times, and now I have to break Deathalicious' heart by boarding up the front door. There is a small mailbox here. -- cortex
Oh, I see. We can judge the entries. Got it.

Congratulations to everybody who submitted an entry. I've got chunks of code done and a story outline but nothing to submit yet. I will complete it when the project I'm currently working on actually tapes out.

Is this something I would have to read sidebars to have known about?

Inaugural! AUGH!
I can be pretty picky about language, but I've never understood this. If you say "inaugural," then how do you know how frequent it's going to be?

What the hell do I do with this plate of beans? I've tried eating it, opening it, fucking it, closing it, killing it, feeding it to every animal, plant, vegetable and mineral, I've tried flipping, pulling, switching, pushing, plughing, zipping, xyzzying, chomping, winning, losing, zorking, mumbling to it, sighing over it, yelling at it, screaming, repenting, biting, counting, listening to, smelling, philosophizing and circumcising, but nothing fucking happens!

Just chiming in with the wish I had known about this before. Still awesome though. Time to add projects to the feed reader.
Man, IF on the Kindle would be great. Too bad it doesn't allow third party apps.

Well, it was also announced in MeTa, to be fair. There was a reminder, too.
