This one is still my favorite. Though I don't think StSanders did it.

The rolling stones one is also not to be missed.

There's something so utterly, perfectly honed in StSanders early work that is really lacking in his newer, broader, more ambitious stuff. I've always felt like his Van Halen clip so perfectly and devastatingly hones in on the essential bullshitness of Van Halen, that it actually destroys Van Halen.

I think the Stones clip wins for me, although when that Pat Metheny clip first started I laughed so hard I spit on my computer. Thanksalot Metafilter.

StSanders' old stuff works for me because, in the parallel universe^* where those videos are the real deal, the guitarists are terrible musicians, but they think they're awesome.

The problem with the newer videos (Queen, Rolling Stones) he applies a different rule to the vocalists. They're not just terrible, they're also crude. And the crudeness is a distraction from what could be some wonderfully awful singing and lyrics.
