Endhiran is a Tamil film. It stars Rajinikanth, the venerable South Indian actor. It's one of the most expensive films to ever come out of India. But perhaps most awesomely/groan inducingely, it has some of the most ridiculous fight scenes ever devised by man.

That sound you hear is Michael Bay whimpering as he picks up the gauntlet.

We tripled on calling double, if it's any consolation.

Don't feel bad. I spent a decent amount of time researching and putting together a post about exactly this earlier today, only to discover that it was a double, so I didn't post.

Isn't that actress the one Roger Ebert has a crush on?

I hadn't seen it before, so if your goal today was to please me, and I'm sure it was, then you've succeeded.

If anyone is interested, this movie is available in whole on the usual file sharing websites. It is totally worth watching, even though the resolution is less than stellar.

I think this movie (and the people behind/ involved with it) deserve more than a few SLYT posts of "holy fuck, look at this awesomely cheesy SFX," which is all there is yet (excluding this post). But this is three more links than yesterday, which probably isn't enough to push it into wholly new territory (plus there were some good comments which added background to the single clip).

Good luck finding a decent copy. I think the DVD is finally out, but not in the US (assuming you're in the US). I think most *aherm* copies you'll find *aherm* online are recordings from theaters, and lacking subtitles.
