Please remind me of an online vintage logo & typography collection

I had a link to a great website but I lost it at some point. Reasonable search terms aren't unearthing it for me. It was simply a photo archive of packages, signs, and other objects with logos or emblems of some kind on them. I have no memory of the site's name.

France is a monarchy that undergoes a succession crisis every five years

La Campagne is a newsletter about the upcoming French presidential election by French economist Manu Saadia (best known for his book Trekonomics). He was fed up with the inaccuracies of English language coverage of French politics, and decided to remedy that. He started with the basics, explaining voting procedures and why it is that French politics are so dominated by the office of the presidency. He's also written about the legacy of French defeat in Algeria, Covid's effect on the campaign and the rise of far-right candidate Éric Zemmour. The newsletter will continue until the election and its immediate aftermath.

Companionship for a forgetful elderly lady in New York?

My mother, late 80s, a retired sociologist, lives at home in New York City. She has pretty bad dementia. She knows who you are, but can't remember that she already asked you that five times today. So she's lost most of her friends. Are there people one can hire as regular companions to simply go on a walk in the park and carry on an interesting conversation with an elderly person in New York? Are there programs?

The Bangladesh Safety Accord has been renewed.

Originally postponed for renewal by the pandemic, garment brands and global unions have come to an agreement on workplace safety. The original accord grew out of a response to several factory fires in Bangladesh in 2010 where workers were killed due to unsafe working conditions. The deal has only been renewed for two years, and many major US brands, such as Walmart, the Gap, JC Penney, have refused to sign it. It has received scant attention in US mainstream media. H&M and Zara are among the major brands that have signed on to renew; however, campaigners are calling upon everyone to do more, to also protect workers wages.

How can I clean more pleasantly and efficiently?

I have been making a lot of progress on mitigating the chaos of my mind/house/life since being diagnosed and medicated for ADHD. However, since I lived all of my adolescence and much of my adult life in a panicked fog, I think I missed some crucial lessons about how to adult and I still feel like I am objectively bad at cleaning, in the sense that I am wasting more time/energy/emotional stress than most people in order to do certain tasks.

I am also interested in reading about how people live with chronic pain or fatigue and how they manage their perspective on it. Thank you!

The world is an open book, if you open your eyes and look

On The Move was a BBC series from the 1970s that set out to address adult illiteracy - sample episode. It was a sort of "Sesame Street for grown ups". With a notably catchy theme tune. Bob Hoskins, played, Alf - the removal man who was struggling to learn to read and write. The show attracted 17 million viewers a week - (way beyond the size of its target audience) and helped make Hoskins famous. It was also responsible for persuading 70,000 people to sign up for adult literacy programmes.

Travel Writing Where Stuff Goes Wrong

What are your favorite travelogues, books, stories, magazine articles, anthologies, blogs, whatever, about people having a bad time travelling? (Preferably with an emphasis on bad things of a more humorous nature rather than tragedies or disasters -- think "embarrassing cultural misunderstanding / crummy food / getting lost" rather than "plane crash" maybe?) Also, I prefer 'hapless' to 'smug' but I'll take whatever you got! I love travelling and since I haven't been able to do it lately, I want some stories of people being annoyed or flummoxed so I can be vicariously vexed. Thanks!!

Seaweed Grows in Ireland (in Whetstone Magazine): Seaweed was once a highly prized resource. According to medieval Irish scholars, a rock that could produce a crop of seaweed had a value equivalent to two and a half cows... however today, “for most Irish people, seaweed rarely goes past being a momentary novelty.” Still, sleabhacán, a notoriously pungent traditional Irish health food made of boiled nori, is making a comeback.
Here are some seaweed varieties foraged on the west coast of Ireland.

The Filing Cabinet

The filing cabinet was critical to the information infrastructure of the 20th-century. Like most infrastructure, it was usually overlooked (Places Journal): "But if it appears to be banal and pervasive, it cannot be so easily ignored. The filing cabinet does not just store paper; it stores information; and because the modern world depends upon and is indeed defined by information, the filing cabinet must be recognized as critical to the expansion of modernity. In recent years scholars and critics have paid increasing attention to the filing systems used to store and retrieve information critical to government and capitalism, particularly information about people — case dossiers, identification photographs, credit reports, et al. But the focus on filing systems ignores the places where files are stored. Could capitalism, surveillance, and governance have developed in the 20th century without filing cabinets? Of course, but only if there had been another way to store and circulate paper efficiently. The filing cabinet was critical to the infrastructure of 20th-century nation states and financial systems; and, like most infrastructure, it is often overlooked or forgotten, and the labor associated with it minimized or ignored." via things magazine

You can't tuna fish, but you can ring the doorbell for them!

Every spring, fish swim right through Utrecht, looking for a place to spawn and reproduce. Some swim all the way to Germany. There is a problem, however: they often have to wait a long time at the Weerdsluis lock on the west side of the inner city, as the lock rarely opens in spring. We have come up with a solution: the fish doorbell! An underwater camera has been set up at the lock, and the live feed is streamed to the homepage. If you see a fish, press the digital fish doorbell.
You too can help horny little fishies get to their make out spot by ringing the doorbell for them, as explained here. Bonus points if you live on the other side of the world, as the fish like to swim mostly at night.

A Thing Of Immense Importance Happened, No One Is Reporting It.

Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador quietly rocked the agribusiness world with his New Year’s Eve decree to phase out use of the herbicide glyphosate and the cultivation of genetically modified corn. His administration sent an even stronger aftershock two weeks later, clarifying that the government would also phase out GM corn imports in three years and the ban would include not just corn for human consumption but yellow corn destined primarily for livestock. Under NAFTA, the United States has seen a 400% increase in corn exports to Mexico, the vast majority genetically modified yellow dent corn.
