Whoa! There I was just reading an election thread for the 500th time, idly clicked on MeTa and my first thought was, "Dammit, something's wrong with the wiki?" Seriously, the credit should go to people like RichardP and Pronoiac who have worked so hard to keep the place shipshape and spam-free. Well, let me just say... I've been on MeFi for over thirteen years now. I definitely felt intimidated to post for a very, very long time here - I posted very rarely and only the most neutral things. Part of my feeling intimidated was, absolutely, how boyzone it felt on MeFi back then. But it was also the intimidation of putting yourself out there for potential snarking or negativity - putting ... - you are being helpful; other posters can't snark on you. So, *shyly clears throat* uh, the last two years have been really tough for a lot reasons - one MeFi.
