Count me in the camp that counts Happy as a little slice of contemporary pop genius. It's so very simple and so very clever at the same time. It does have a certain calm to it, it's not showy or bombastic. Just feels kinda lovely!

FYI. There are essentially just 3 tracks of "music" - programmed drums, 1 channel of bass and 1 channel of keyboards and the rest of the song is built from vocals and hand claps.

It's actually a trick for squaring numbers ending in the digit 5. If "x" is the number to be squared, you drop the last digit and consider the remaining digit(s). Let's call that "y". Multiply y by (y+1) and add the digits 2 and 5 at the end of your result to get the answer.

The reason this works is that you're really multiplying x+5 by x-5 and correcting your answer. (x+5) * (x-5) = x^2 -25
which means

90% of live EDM shows is about being immersed in an energetic crowd who are just as enthusiastic about the music as you are + the enormous sound systems they have. It would have troubles passing legal hurdles, but if it is true that the more robocars are on the roads the safer roads are in general, then I reckon the long view means that robocars should always protect their driver at the expense of others because that would make adoption of robocars more attractive and result in potentially quicker uptake.

I think that if you're capable of behaving decently when you're carrying, then you're probably capable of it when you're unarmed, and maybe what you need to work on is the sense of entitlement that makes you feel like you're allowed to be an asshole unless there's some potential dire consequence that could occur. Years of marriage have taught me that it's worth bringing up hurt feelings only if there's something concrete the other person can do. Otherwise, keep your mouth shut and try to forgive the person and keep your interactions with them positive, and you'll find that your feelings will change as long as the relationship is generally good.
