hyperion
definitely born under a water sign.
Fantastische Farben
This is a tune I wrote in 05. All the instrument sounds come from an emulated SID chip (Commodore 64) and the drums are a sliced up sample. This song was featured on the "I am 8bit" portion of the King of Kong DVD and now I upload it here to share with my fellow MeFites! I hope you like it.
Snow Girl
Russian DJ
Axeitus
Hay guys, look, I made a real song for once! It's pretty good too.
Electro-wank
Wank wank wank wank wank.
Wasting Time
Yet another track from my RPM challenge entry (5 of 10, as a matter of fact). Named rather literally, as this song isn't terribly developed and was kept around simply because it filled up some space.
Life Through Veils
Old recording from 1990. Music Recorded live, with the middle section and ending being written extemporaneously in the studio, vocals are the only overdubs. Originally 24 track, but this was rescued from cassette, hence the crap quality. I wrote the music and the singer wrote the words and melody. I sang backup.
Three Miles Away...
Not a leak! No pepsi blue. Just want to say "it was here first" :D
Stars
I took a second crack at this not-a-love-song from my 2002 collection "Same As It Never Was."
instrumental
Here is a song without words, yet. I've got some questions on the inside.
Secret Book (Vocal Mix - Redux)
Due to popular demand, here's yet another mix of "Secret Book" with vocals, as originally posted here and here.
piltdown part 7
jazz tune. also, "jazz" tune.
The View From Space
enjoy!
Wasted Hearts
A love song to the state of Michigan.
Shelter
This is a song a friend of mine named Audrey Johnston wrote that I think is pretty.
Baltimore
A Gameboy tribute to Baltimore.
Gas Giant
Some light-stepping chilled out beats, inspired by the Portishead mix linked by isopraxis, and sampling a bar or two of Holst's "Jupiter".
Monkeys Vs. Plumbers
I got a copy of FL Studio and decided to try my hand at electronic music.
Come out sounding more like an SNES soundtrack.
Subject of the Kill (demo)
This is Joel J. Dahl's original home demonstration recording of Subject of the Kill.
I Will Make You Understand
Just a little Garageband thing. I've had that spoken loop forever, anyone know where it comes from?
Zes Haus Hansbilt
An older song, back from when I thought I could make house music.
Warning: starts out quiet, then gets thumpin' loud. Turn up/down as preference dictates.
When I Was A Babay
My wife and I did this cover of a song by the Donner Party. Best lyrics ever.
all rhodes lead to roam
an eclectic downtempo glitchy track of mine from 2006. some interesting live drumming incorporated then destroyed accordingly. comments welcome!
BRK101A
Old school break experiment 101a
She's a Scientist, Too
Sung by The Infamous Benny Hill, this one is an ode to a female scientist he knows.
Underwater Silent Movie
An imaginary soundtrack theme from a silent movie filmed entirely underwater. A short but sweet instrumental track from Tangemeenie's forthcoming "The Gilded Age."
Summer Helper
Another Saladabar song. This one is an instrumental and is new. The recording is a live recording from a recent rehearsal made with an Edirol R-09.
Louis Collins
Quick 'n' dirty cover of Mississippi John Hurt's old song played on my resonator guitar. Levels are a bit off, volume jumps up and down a little... but here it is anyway.
The Punisher
A little acoustic guitar ditty that sounds like something that would be perfectly suited for a front porch.
Bird Stealing Bread
Since it's all the rage, here's a cover.
Yellow Test 1
Sketch of a more up-tempo house remix for a down-tempo vocal track. Chance to play with a few new plug-ins.
Black Horse and the Tambourine
Beck's "Black Tambourine" vs KT Tunstall's "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree." A MeFi exclusive!
Or The Tide
This is the first song I've recorded on my laptop for my band, Low-Tech Riff Raff. Suggestions on the mix are eagerly accepted.
Till I Can't Run No More
Another song from yet another band I'm in, The Eric Weiler Band. Generally the quick-and-dirty go-to description many people find for us is along the lines of "Tom Waits singing for the E Street Band." Make your own call. I play the Hammond.
Sleeper
Merrily we roll along
All the Same
Another time-warp alt-rock bruiser...
The Coat Hanger Song
Another song off of the new People Will Blink record. We wrote this in 2003 and it has been a fan-favorite ever since. Every time we ask Azeem what the lyrics are about, we get a different response. From what I can gather, a pirate is appearing to someone in a dream. I am the voice of said pirate.
Oh, Johanna
Bluesy folksy track, an ode to Johanna
badge of hope
oscillating fan man wears a badge of hope. he keeps you cool.
Episode v1.0
A lullaby for a dying satellite.
dotgod
This one's a dance number.
Fathom2
Adrift in the ocean slowly sinking
More Songs About Oven Mitts
This is a song about a decommissioned Killbot, forced to work in a kitchen baking and whatnot. He is pretty angry about it.
on and on and on
An atheist's song about the nature of politics and religion in the U.S.
Bananas
Kinda Panda? - Bananas
Secret Agent Man
A quick and dirty cover of the Johnny Rivers classic for a lazy Friday afternoon.
404
And now for something completely different... this is a somewhat experimental instrumental track featuring pulsing soft noise, soft organs and a distorted xylophone, fake sitar, and off-key distant "singing."
Jettison
Another song by the Goddamn Handclaps.
You're Just New
New recording. Older song.
Some Other Boy/Girl
Wherein I discover you can lyrically abstract and obscurely rearrange an interpersonal situation, but you can't make it blink.
