Nasdaq headquarters on verge of collapse. This is turning into a day in history that will be added to text books soon enough. Without a doubt next September 11th will be a national rememberance day, no work, no school etc.

NASDAQ operates from a computer complex north of the city; trading operations should be minimally affected. However, the loss of enforcement capability from the loss of NASDAQ offices, together with the destruction of much of the New York office of the Securities and Exchange Commission (in 7 World Trade Center, which collapsed yesterday) is very worrisome. Given the gyrations in the markets which are to be expected, the last thing that we want is to give even more cover to fraud.
