(And I can't believe it, but I'm going to repeat a Youtube comment as funny: "The internet has made me wary of girls with cups, but this is awesome.") posted by benito.strauss at 9:06 AM on July 7, 2011 [1 favorite]
She has a great voice, but there are a lot of versions of this. I've seen so many go by now that I'd like to see people adapting the cups techniques to other songs instead of doing this one over and over. posted by jocelmeow at 9:11 AM on July 7, 2011

Wow. She has a gorgeous voice. And hand eye coordination that I could not duplicate in a million, billion years. posted by 8dot3 at 11:10 AM on July 7, 2011 [1 favorite]
I missed this too -- love it. Now I have something new to do in cafes while I'm waiting for my order! posted by Surfurrus at 11:22 AM on July 7, 2011
I was taught how to do the cup thing on a high school trip to Spain. It's actually a drinking game, and if you mess up the pattern, you drink. I think. Memories of that night are a bit hazy. posted by erinfern at 11:52 AM on July 7, 2011
Well at least she doesn't have a ukulele ... posted by alby at 12:29 PM on July 7, 2011 [1 favorite]

Annoying, but at least she's not ruining the 13th Floor Elevators. posted by Lovecraft In Brooklyn at 2:53 PM on July 7, 2011
That was so cool! I love her singing and that nifty percussion with the plastic cup. Had no idea there was a whole playing around with cups as percussion and the You're Gonna Miss Me song. This young kid is delightfully good without any pretension. No make-up, no fancy anything, just plain and excellent singing. She's got a wonderful voice, naturally, an ease. I hope she's discovered by somebody who develops new talent. posted by nickyskye at 5:30 PM on July 7, 2011 [1 favorite]
See, I was planning on posting a comment like the one that's two above this one, and then I watched it, and ended up feeling like the comment just above this one. posted by benito.strauss at 7:11 PM on July 7, 2011
