The guitar in the song sounds similar to behind blue eyes guitar.

I liked the house with the two mini-Washington monuments in the garden.

All this "blame the bankers" is growing hollow and reactionary. Try whoever bankrolls the Tea party.

Why couldn't you tell us what this video is about in your post?

The banks are huge campaign contributors to Tea Party candidates.

Great song by the way.

This is not a great Mefi post but it's a great song.

I wish this song was reactionary, but this is probably a song of its time. Reactionary is a RATM song. This song is plaintive; its folk music. People who have no power make music like this.

I agree about the song but you're completely wrong about folk music, just all sorts of wrong. Even if you're being conservative about defining the genre, and don't include punk or hip hop or whatever, you still have woody guthrie.

It's more to the point that Wall St donors give a lot to Republicans, which would include in recent times, Republican Party endorsed (and some, including Tea Partiers, would say co-opted) Tea Party-identified candidates. Wall St gives a lot to the Democrats as well, though substantially more to the GOP in recent years. But I doubt they gave very much at all to purely grassroots Tea Party groups and candidates as opposed to GOP-endorsed ones.

In any case, Wall St Republican and Tea Party agendas don't align very well. Sure, both tend to want major action to reduce government and taxes, but there's a big cultural disconnect (especially as Tea Partiers as so anti-elitist) and some major policy ones as well. For instance, the mess over the debt ceiling is crucially (but certainly not entirely) driven by the Tea Party GOP faction in Congress. Many Tea Partiers would love to see a US Federal default result from no raising of the debt ceiling as a radical "solution" to big government. But a US Federal default and no raising of the debt ceiling would hurt Wall St financial interests very very very much.

I misread and thought the video was about 'Gangster Bangs'.

If you want boring folk music about the current economic crisis, get the new Flogging Molly album. Or don't.

hmmm.. well, there were tags that told you it was a rap (sort of) about the housing bubble and banks, and the title told you the name of the song and that it was a SLYT.

Was there more you needed?
