That definitely seemed to be a stress reaction. I feel sorry for her. Sneeze (histamine reaction) = embarrassment (stress reaction) = histamine = stress = histamine = stress....ad infinitum.

I think that the teacher should have let her leave the classroom after the fifth sneeze. That would have limited the stress conditions.

I've been suck in a sneezing pattern like that before. It's misery. And, yes, embarrassing and stressful.

My guess is this was a library or study hall environment with no/minimal supervision. She seems to find it humorous toward the end of the clip. I wondered it it wasn't a reaction to an allergen. There really isn't enough time for the stress/histamine cycle theory is there?

I too feel sorry for her, but it's still funny. I put myself in her shoes and I'd still be laughing.

No doubt, this video was recorded and posted by class-mates making fun of and taunting this girl.

Now, it is posted on sites like this - so even more people can laugh at her.

cjorgensen, I know someone who has had the hiccups for something like 15 years. He lectures daily. Before he told us, I thought he just had a strange accent or cadence to his voice.

This woman was just on Inside Edition. The video was taken by a friend of hers. There are now other videos of her doing this and she's turned it into fundraising for the American Lung Association. There's even a Facebook page now.
