You know how there are inherently funny words? I think this is the discovery of an inherently funny camera technique. posted by griphus at 12:51 PM on January 6 [1 favorite]
For the record this is not some random guy fooling around in his living room (okay, it kind of still is) but rather David Finlayson, second trombone with the NY Philharmonic. posted by range at 1:04 PM on January 6 [5 favorites]
I don't care who he is. I will be seeing that in my nightmares. posted by mudpuppie at 1:10 PM on January 6
This is the porniest video I've ever seen involving an older man and a trombone. posted by chavenet at 1:22 PM on January 6 [1 favorite]
Thanks, range. I thought it was Larry David in Curb Your Enthusiasm. When I read David Finlayson in the YouTube profile, I thought it had something to do with the series finale. posted by LaunchBox at 1:24 PM on January 6
The combination of a Trombone and a Gopro produces something fantastic.
After a while I looked away from the funny close-ups to better appreciate the way HE WAS PLAYING HIS ASS OFF! What a beautiful, performance of a nice piece of music. posted by djrock3k at 1:50 PM on January 6 [1 favorite]
Now I know why babies laugh when you bring them close to your face! It's funny! posted by Popular Ethics at 2:05 PM on January 6 [3 favorites]
Jesus Christ, I laughed so hard at this. I am pretty sick right now and laughing hurts but I don't care. It was worth it. Even if some of the fits of laughter became fits of coughter. posted by FAMOUS MONSTER at 2:08 PM on January 6 [1 favorite]
I'm really liking the different ways people are using these kinds of cameras because as a dedicated couch potato, I'd look the extreme skiing/surfing/skating/biking GoPro videos and think, "Well, that's neat but I'm sure as hell am not going to try that so I don't have any use for this camera."
Then along came this GoPro cat video ad and the trombone video which have given me a giant case of new camera lust. posted by jamaro at 3:46 PM on January 6 [3 favorites]
Man, I want one of those cameras. posted by zzazazz at 5:02 PM on January 6

These tiny cameras can sure create some unusual points of view. For instance, those hula hoop videos from last summer. posted by jjj606 at 6:51 PM on January 6 [3 favorites]

The original upload was a rip from his website here where it's still available. Perhaps the mods would care to change the link? posted by codacorolla at 7:10 PM on January 7
