you know, you might have warned us there was goat kissing.

My girlfriend and I will often fall down the YouTube sinkhold of watching goats climb on things, which they do with a peculiar single-mindedness -- if it's there, they will try to climb it. We especially like when goats climb on other animals.

Goat climbing on a ram
Goat climbing on a camel
Goat climbing on a donkey
Goat climbing on a pony
Goat climbing on a sheep
Baby goat climbing on a llama
Goat climbing on a turtle
Goats climbing on a dog
Goat tries to climb a human

One of the best episodes of Radiolab was precipitated by some travelers who stopped because they were astonished to see a goat on top of a cow, unaware that if you put a cow anywhere near a goat, the goat will try to climb it.

A Vice video about goats? I assume they are addicted to an exotic new drug I've never heard of or something. Are they Ironic goats maybe? They can't just be goats can they?

Goat sneeze! This is adorable. I need Nigerian pygmy goats. I'm not in a farming neighborhoodt, though. Maybe I can explain them away as cute, environmentally-friendly lawn mowers?

Motherboard's reasonably PG.

My neighborgoats. My dogs and I pass by this tribe every day on our morning walk. There are a lot more goats now, and two donkeys who work as livestock guardians. My dogs are mostly OK with the goats (though my Border Collie mutt would love to herd them somewhere) but they really do not like the donkeys. Can't say I blame them; donkeys are jerks. Not donkey-ist.

Video of goats and watching other people's goats is great fun. Keeping your own goats not so much. Those animals are fucking insane.

"These guys don't produce milk or anything, they're completely just for show and for fun."

Also, they are all boys.

But, sneezing goats is fantastic. And I will one day have a pygmy goat army. We won't accomplish much, but we will defoliate the shit out of some blueberry bushes and grape vines. Then, after a hard day's conquest, we will adjourn to the living room, where there will be goat hugs for all!

We will also run everywhere, because running goats is just about the best thing ever.

I once witnessed the birth of a pygmy goat at a county fair. It was not adorable yet.

Yup, that is adorably cute all right! Who couldn't love the little baby goatlets? (Yes I know not their real name.)

Dr. Zira's comment reminds me of seeing Anglo-Nubian goats (which I think are the most adorable goats ever) being born. The whole experience made me stand with my legs crossed and, when mama goat stepped on her own massively milk-swollen udder, moan in sympathy and resolve never to have children. And the baby goats were much cuter after she'd licked them off.

Great stuff, but the music has scared me off watching more goat videos. Is that standard goat music, or just for the Nigerian kind?

Seriously ?

Kids.

Baby sheep are lambs, baby goats are kids.

I suspect both usages predate either term being applied to baby humans.

Seriously ?

Um... no.

Looking at cute animals has never made anyone do silly things with the English language. Nope. Never.

Well, words on a screen -- there is no intonation to hear nor facial expression to see, so it is not so easy to tell sometimes just what someone other is saying.
