Wait...this is a TV Show? Damn son, that's slick.

Yeah. It's a pity Disney made the films so simpleminded and fable-istic, because the aesthetic they created is owed much, much more.

Yes. And everyone needs to watch TRON UPRISING now.

Wait, what is going on? This exists? Existed? I need context.

Wow, this is beautiful.

Yes, seriously. I really do think it is one of the best animated series around. It has some ridiculously fantastic direction, and they have top notch voice acting that includes Elijah Wood, Bruce Boxleitner, and Paul Reubens amongst others. Trust me, if you haven't watched it, start watching and you'll be agreeing with what I've said in no time.

The first episode is free in HD on iTunes in Canada right now. I imagine it is elsewhere, too.

I'm downloading as fast as I can, damn it! Absolutely gorgeous, and I especially love how the human figures are fairly Moebius-y.

However: ‘Tron: Uprising’ Likely Aired Its Last Episode Last Night, Thanks To Disney’s Fear Of Bronies
Tron: Uprising is everything we theoretically want out of a cartoon. It’s mature, well-written, possessed of a distinct and gorgeous design, and it has a top-notch voice cast. While it’s kid-friendly, you can watch it as an adult and enjoy it as a well-written action show. In theory, this is everything Disney would want out of an animated show that appeals largely to nerds in their twenties and thirties. ...

So why is Disney packing off a show that has a rabid cult following, generally the kind of thing tiny cable networks want to encourage, off to die? Because it’s a show that appealed primarily to adults.
One of the comments quotes what seems to be a farewell message from the director/executive producer Charlie Bean: “A giant thanks to the cast and crew of #TRONUprising. I am so humbled and honored to have had the opportunity to work with all of you."

And the past tense from the art director in the link: what a damn shame.

I'd give up some basic civil rights to live there.

I want to play a video game set in that world that is Dark Souls hard.

I watched Tron: Uprising from the day the first episode was made available. It's gorgeous and well-written and is one of the best things Disney has ever made.

And now they've killed it? Bastards.

Well, that was added to my Amazon watchlist. It looks amazing. Of course they killed it.

At least we'll still always have four seasons of ReBoot.

I don't suppose the series was done Aeon Flux style with no dialogue?

Even if, as hippybear says, it's well written, this video makes me want to watch it with the sound off and just play some Daft Punk on the stereo.

No, the series has dialogue. But they did it right. Here's the cast list. Not mentioned there is that they did get Jeff Bridges to voice Flynn when he appears.
