I do not understand how people who enjoy pool enough to go to the expense of buying their own table are able to encourage their dog to ruin the felt on it. Yeah, sure the dog is cute, but my god, people!

I love how Raisin keeps checking in with its people after each ball-sink, like, "Did you see that?! Did you see it?!"

He's checking in to see if he knocked the correct ball in to get his treat (note the lip licking). At this point in his training the correct ball is the final ball.

That was fantastic.
I like how Raisin sticks with pushing around the same ball even when it runs into a bunch of other balls. That's some focus right there.
I liked that too, but I think that had something to do with how a dogs brain is wired. You can see what little of the wolf is left in him there. When wolves charge into a herd of prey, they have one target, and they stay fixed on that target the whole time. I don't think Raisin really saw more than one ball, just the object ball and things in the way of sinking the ball.

It's hard to say if he was enjoying himself or just obsessive/compulsive about getting all those balls off the table. When he finished, he seemed less, "Boy, that sure was fun!" than "Thank God I've made the world safe from all those damn round things on the table again!"

1. I was waiting for him to pee on a ball or the table.
2. I wish they had left the camera on a few seconds after he finishes so we could see his happy dance/proud look/whatever.

My take is that when they realized how much fun Raisin was having, they decided a happy dog was more important than the felt. And just that thought makes me happy.
I too wish the video lasted just a few seconds more, because at that point even *I* wanted a goddam treat!
