Re-creating ridiculous family pictures. Guess what we'll be doing at the next family gathering.

I laughed.

What's funny is that it's very easy to see the face of the child in the face of the adults.

Still weird and funny, but interesting, I guess.

The dad feeding the "bottle" of beer to the son is the best.

These are great. The next time our family is together I need to recreate the infamous time I came home from college to go to Easter Sunday church with the family. With a mohawk.

Unfortunately I probably won't actually do that. But if I do it will definitely go on the internets.

Goes to show that there's never a wrong time/age for using a kitchen colander as a neat helmet!

The best part is the excellent reproduction of the facial expressions in each one. I think my favourite is the dad holding the son at arm's length.

yeah I think some of these have been nicked from the Ze Frank site

The Ze Frank "young me/now me" series is a black hole of endless entertainment.

The is HILARIOUS.

Goddam it I love the internet!

I think the best thing about these is that you can imagine how the people were laughing their asses off and having fun with their friends/family as they recreated these. So awesome.

Jessamyn and her sister did a series of these. For example:

I don't get it. All of the old pictures seemed sweet and nice in their own ways and all of the re-creations seemed over the top and mocking. None of them seemed funny to me at all. I'm not sure what I am missing here but it's an odd thing to me. Why is this funny or great or whatever you see in it?

The height differentials are nice, younger sister now being taller than her older sister, mum looking up at her son instead of down etc. These are cute.

Baby wearing boots before/after is the best.

I'm not sure which is more horrific--'baby' laying across mommy's lap or 'baby' in dad's work boots.

Not everything should be posted on the intarwebs.

(but I LOLed anyway)

Men just have a different relationship with their nude bodies, don't they?

For reals? Getting together with your family and affectionately remembering being kids together and having silly-assed fun with it is a bad thing?

all of the re-creations seemed over the top and mocking.

Basically all of the interactions I have with my family are over the top and mocking.
