Dear President Of Television:

I would watch this show. With commercials.

Oh this is just delightful. I have not generally cared much for Bad Lip Readings, but this actually works.

The way they craft actual slapstick comedy scenes from a fake shitty summer movie out of this nonsense is insanely hard to do, way beyond what I expected from this... it could have just been "You dress ratchet" and I would have been dying.

The Extended Outtakes thing is pretty funny too.

My cheeks hurt. And I'm *far* too busy at work to be caught wasting time on Youtube. Or at least that's what I've been telling people for weeks.

Oh my god. Whoever noticed that it looked like Littlefinger was dancing in that one clip... genius.

I also appreciate anything that makes my absolutely inexplicable and completely involuntary Aiden Gillen-as-Petyr Baelish crush even more problematic and kittens totally hits the spot in that respect.

This was so ridiculous... ly good!

I don't know "Game of Thrones" but if it was anything like this I would totally, totally be all over it.

I can't watch this until I get home. I have asked my husband to wait to watch it with me. I'm going to pick up takeout and wine.

Jimmy Whispers should be all shows.

Holy shit this was good. It's hard to distinguish it from a trailer for "Your Highness," which sadly also includes Charles Dance. Get it? It's a medieval action/adventure, but it's also a comedy! It's *drumroll, please* cross-genre! Brought to you by the director of "Pineapple Express." It's testing really well in our focus groups.

Oh my god this cheered me up. So up. RIGHT THE HELL UP. It's hard to pick a favorite, but I think Tyrion Terry.

Good ol' Littlefinger. Always the host with the most.

It's hard to pick a favorite,

I think my favorite is Denise Targaryen.

"Though Beth overdrinks.."
"Is that right?"
"Totally, I mean she doesn't just sip it. She gets trashed and unrolls my socks."

The Whelk: I would watch this show. With commercials.

Pitch two shows simultaneously. One an hour-long costume drama, the other a immature sitcom about actors in a costume drama. The sets, locations and actors are identical and the plot lines subtly mirror each other. The usurper king gets assassinated in the drama and dumped by his hot girlfriend in the comedy. The child star gets petulant in the comedy and the young prince in the drama has ideas about conquering the neighboring duchy.

I don't have sound on my work computer, so I turned on the closed-captioning to read the dialogue. Turns out the CC isn't actually done by humans and is, instead, poorly done by computer. Still very amusing! Two thumbs up.

It sounds like the voice actor for Eddie Stark is subtly chanelling Luke Wilson.
posted by coolxcool=rad at 1:30 PM on October 16, 2013 [4 favorites]

Not only that, but "works about as hard as a barell of apples" is the most Luke Wilson-y thing a Luke Wilson character would ever say - it's like they've all been based on the kinds of actors who would be in a movie like this.

Oh man I would so watch a Meatballs-esque summer teen comedy that took place at a Ren Faire. It could be a little bit Adventureland, a little bit Pitch Perfect.

Oh man, my girlfriend linked this to me this morning over IM, and I watched it at work. I have never been so busted up laughing that I was crying because I was laughing so hard, but also crying because I couldn't stop laughing, and then I was crying even more because I think I wrenched my back from laughing.

This was exactly what I needed to lift my spirits today.

Ganh! Ganh ganh ganh!

I'm not sure if all BLR clips are like this (I feel like they aren't), but I really appreciate the imaginative editing and CGI. For example, the part where both Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark appear to be bedridden in the same room at the same time.
posted by phaedon at 4:16 PM on October 16, 2013

OH my god....that was fantastic. For anyone who is unaware, BLR of Michele Bachmann is like Jesus coming through your laptop screen and talking just to you.

This is some next level BLR shit. Just the fact that there is characterization and plot is new, much less the careful editing and CGI. Eddie's fucking megaphone kills me.

I broke something trying to keep from laughing out loud watching this in the office. This is a thing I loved a lot.

Now I'm down the rabbit hole watching other BLR videos (I'd never heard of them before), and my brain is flapping like grandma's washing-line longjohns in a hot summer breeze, so hooray!

I'd like an entire episode just for Stannis, like maybe Stannis on mushrooms, getting distracted by Davos Seaworth's finger bag while looking for a missing pair of bespoke Baratheon stretchy pants.

This Game of Thrones one works really really well, and done very well too.. Took a peak at a couple of their other ones, and they seem to be more random works..
Going to have to watch this a 2nd or 3rd time too I feel..

On my third viewing now... at 0:40, when the big sign with the list of theme park attractions shows up, the attractions are as follows:

SERFIN' SAFARI
CHARLEMAGNIA!
THE MAGNA CARTA-WHEELA
FIEF IN THE KNIGHT
LET'S PLAGUE GAMES
THE TOSSED SALADIN

This is some next-level awesomeness. I sort of want to marry it.
