The Super Bowl Shuffle

The Super Bowl Shuffle is being revisited by Chicago Bear R.W. McQuarters before the playoffs have even started. Listen to a sample (real audio) and judge for yourself. Cocky, confident, or both?

As a former player, and long time Bears fan, there's only one thing I can say to that.

They're doomed.

I'm sure he won't be singing that after "THE BEARS" meet "THE RAMS" Go Rams!

As a football fan I simultaneously drool and pout over the offensive firepower of the Rams. No way the Bears beat St. Louis in St. Louis. The Jags made the same stupid mistake two years ago.

Sports depends on superstition and tradition. Those who flaunt it or ignore it are doomed. DOOMED, I say! :)

I hope so, I hate this city when the sports teams win. Idiots in the streets do nothing for me.

Two years ago, after the 14-2 Jaguars stomped the Dolphins in the playoffs and sent Dan Marino and Jimmy Johnson into retirement, the local media repeated played "Uh Oh," a Super Bowl song that several Jaguars players recorded earlier that year.

That next weekend, the Titans stomped the Jaguars, and the team finished 7-9 and 6-10.

Aside from the fact that "Uh Oh" is a terrible boast -- since it's something you normally say with dread -- it has long been proven that the football gods are offended by boastful songs released prior to the completion of the conference championship games.

The Bears are doomed.

"Super Bowl Shuffle" was also recorded before da 85 Bears were in the actual Super Bowl, and they won.

I hate stupid, "let's go tip cars on the streets over!" behavior - but I think back to the groundswell of people in Grant Park for the Bulls' championships, back when we had a basketball team, and think that people were well-behaved for the most part.

I can see your point, but I don't follow any sports so it is just congestion to avoid for me. Thankfully I believe that sort of event is usually going on in the middle of the work day and does not affect me. The first time the Bull's won, I had the misfortune to be walking home, and the city exploded. I literally had bottles and bricks thrown at me, and the gunfire irritated me for hours afterward. I live in a better part of town now, but that has made me even less tolerant of the peace being disturbed.

You think this song will be nominated for a Grammy like the original Super Bowl Shuffle was?
