I feel like this animation style could have been used to make something really wonderful. And it is sad, because it has been used to make something almost transcendently stupid. But it takes some consolation in the fact that the gnomes and snakes were pretty awesome.

This reminded me of those artists who take children's drawings and rework them in photorealistic style. The complete stupidity of the dialog is the point.
But what really intrigued me was the animation style, because I can't quite figure out how they did it. It looked like 2-D drawings distorted by moving bits around, but while (say) Tigtone was talking, his teeth would appear when his mouth was open, which doesn't fit my mental model. But it doesn't look 3-D animated, either.
