Despite its aging interface and its slightly misleading name, The Old Fulton New York Postcards site is an amazing tool for anyone doing any kind of historical research. It is a huge searchable archive of american and canadian newspapers.

You don't have the latest version of Macromedia Flash Player! This Site Needs Macromedia Flash Player 11.1 or Higher

Not kidding about the aging interface.

This site is invaluable for my research, along with the New York State Historic Newspaper Archive, which I find easier to search.

This site helped me break a genealogical brick wall that had surrounded my great-grandmother, and for that I will always be grateful.
