Some San Franciscans are not pleased with the amount of Super Bowl nonsense gracing our city, especially as we thought we got rid of the stadium and had it sent 40 miles south. Fortunately, there are still some good people left in town, as we are interested in Superb Owl 50. Apparently folks gave that statue another good thrashing last night and it got taken away this morning.

It's too soon. With many, many of my fellow Seattle denizens, I am still in mourning that I can't find any trace of Hawks in the Superb Owl.

Superb owl-pellets! I bought some for my Girl Scouts to take apart, for the Nature at Night badge (that's where cookie money goes, to owl puke). It was fascinating. So many little bones and skulls.

But one girl cried (she couldn't deal with death of small rodents) and three girls skipped the next meeting. Whoops.
