Skimmed the list. Lots of good stuff and some not so good. I note this one:GQ / Anchorman: The Legend of Don Lemon by Taffy Brodesser-Akner

I had read that previously and, true it is that Lemon gets a bit whacky at times, esp. when dealing with a subject he believes in, but he is really not much worse than so many others hired by the cable channels. On the Right we have Bill O'Reilly, convinced that god made America for white people and that the Left trying to do us in; on the Left Rachel Maddow, histrionic and long winded. Small wonder the nation is so ill in formed.

Remove a few articles and the title could be "Great US Journalism". Did I miss some translations? Certainly not easy to find great journalism in Huffington Post.

Last year, coming across another version of this very post for the nth time, I finally gave in and paid for a subscription of the (sometimes bi-)weekly Best of Journalism newsletter. I find it to be worth every penny: very focused curation that doesn't shun popular articles (if they're worth it) but always brings along some nuggets you wouldn't find anywhere. If rather not pay for 5~10 links a week, there's a big overlap between its recommended articles and those in the free, weekly Longform newsletter. (While you're at it, take Ann Friedman's newsletter for a spin, excellent curation every Friday in your inbox.)
