I travel often on this road in this odd corner of rural East Tennessee, but haven't seen or heard this particular story. Thankfully, a reporter devoted several minutes to The Hawkins County Highway Hula Dancer.

I, too, live in rural East Tennessee, and I assure you that I find this as baffling as you probably do.

Reminds me of the recent post about the half-dozen young sorority women who were struck by a truck and died while walking on the highway.

Yeah, as much as I appreciate the joy she takes in her activity, and I can't get over my terrible apprehension for her safety. The side of a freeway is about the most dangerous patch of real estate in the world.
