Zeal & Ardor (previously) has released a live-in-the-studio video of "Blood In The River" [THIS IS LOUD]. Good mood music. Loudwire has more about Z&A.

Apparently I missed this the first time around, and now I'm angry at myself for not being aware of this music. Thanks for sharing. I just started my work shift and you've kicked it off to a good start.

Well, I'm off to go re-listen to the Z&A album for what, the 100th time now? Thanks.

I've been a fan since Johnny Wallflowers' last post on Z&A. So...thanks yet again!

It certainly lives up to the intro!

I could swear we had a MeTa about Zalgo titles, but I can't actually find it now...

Huh. Despite using the stylistic elements of a type of metal that isn't my cup of tea, this really tickles me. It feel at a first approximation a bit like a metal band covering Nick Cave.

Time to dig deep.

The Zeal and Ardor album is a bit uneven, but this song rocks so hard every single time, I can't even describe it. I have to say the album version is probably better, though. Something about better harmonies/melodiousness in the chants, and there's a bit more dynamism in the mix.

Zeal & Ardor have been frying my wig for a while, so much so that I bought their album from bandcamp, which in 2017 is an act of madness.

The album on bandcamp says "released March 1, 2017", but the tracklist looks the same as the one release last year. Is it the same album?
posted by bradf at 8:28 PM on June 20, 2017

It's the same. They pulled it for a while when they signed to a label and then had a "new" release with simultaneous online and physical availability.

They did tweak the artwork slightly, compare: Original listing
