being creative is just being yourself and trotting with YOUR OWN unique way. just waking up in the morning and stetching your bones is creative because every moment is making infinate timelines. you are so powerful in your way because for every decision there are so many new worlds spinning off and if that isnt dang creative i dont know what is thanks

I did not expect to get up today and have Chuck Tingle make me cry a little, but I guess that proves love is real in this timeline.

but I guess that proves love is real in this timeline.

Love is real in every timeline. Unlike shoes.
I think this might be very similar to Anya’s world without shrimp. But I could be confused.

Was sipping a mocha with barely any actual coffee in the mix just as I got to the top 10 list. woo.

This is priceless and I like every bit of Chuck Tingle that I have seen, admittedly not much.

In your book ‘My billionaire triceratops craves gay ass’, Oliver, the protagonists gay former pet triceratops, is both an erotic dancer and a heavyweight in the financial sector.
As I recall, Delany's Stars in My Pocket Like Grains of Sand features humans and handsome buckaroo intelligent dragons who routinely crave gay ass. I'm just saying, I think the chances are good that Chuck Tingle is actually Chip Delany.

OMG. I'm officially down the rabbit hole, and his Reddit AMA is delightful.

It starts with an actual paleontologist who has a perfect English->Tingle translator, moves along to somebody having a three-way with linear time, and and and ... his fans are also great.

One of my new favorite things is Dr. Tingle's recent collaboration with Night Vale, Pounded In The Butt By My Own Podcast.

I regard your attempt to establish plausible deniability with skepticism.

You can actually learn more about Chuck from the Reddit AMA done by his Handsome Son Jon.

INTERVIEWER

Could you write us a story in six words?

DR CHUCK TINGLE

The last Metafilter post on Chuck Tingle got pounded in the butt by the mods deleted due to r/nosleep removing the source text, but some anonymous hero reposted the Very True Story here.

Wow. I've never read a Tingler at all- but damn if that wasn't the best interview ever!!

I am still having a really hard time with Chuck Tingle. I really, really don’t like the probability that the character “Chuck Tingle” is playing at being disabled or mentally ill. That AMA with his “son” Jon makes me uncomfortable every time. Anyone else struggling with this?

That's man of chuck to you.

I feel like Zoe Quinn wouldn't be working with Chuck Tingle if she thought it involved someone pretending to be mentally ill to sell smutty books on Amazon.

@babydoll_guro NTs are so scared of mentally ill folk being progressive and successful that they have insisted that worlds greatest author @ChuckTingle isnt real but they are just afraid of our way and dont understand I hope they can learn to understand

@ChuckTingle i have noticed something like this when i say in interviews i am man of aspergers way which is 'high functioning' (i do not like this term but it is whats used) they do not print this i do not know why. so then they say chuck cant be real because he chooses to talk unique. ohwell

I would be thrilled if Chuck Tingle were exactly as he portrays himself to be. But last time we had a Chuck Tingle thread here on Metafilter, I came out very strong on the “hooray for successful and progressive non-neurotypicals” side, and several people told me I was being stupid and that this was obviously an act. So.

I didn't know who Chuck Tingle was for far too many years. I know it's almost certainly a satirical parody account, but the sentiments behind a lot of what Chuck says are genuinely moving.

He reminds me quite a bit of Chris (Simpsons artist)...

I would be thrilled if Chuck Tingle were exactly as he portrays himself to be.

Maybe? But the excerpts I've seen of a couple of Tinglers read very differently than his Q&As. Which is not to say that folks on the spectrum can't code-switch or write fiction in highly empathetic ways, just that these two presentations of self are quite different.

New Dr. Chuck Tingle AMA on Reddit. I very much liked his Q&A about the LONESOME TRAIN, his metaphor for the appeal of Thanatos versus Eros.
